Drug Dealer Busted at Waterloo in County Lines Crackdown
Railway Used to Peddle Heroin and Cocaine
A 24-year-old drug dealer caught using trains to move heroin and cocaine for the notorious ‘Levi’ county line has been locked up for 45 months. British Transport Police (BTP) nabbed Robert Conna Crozier at London Waterloo station in December 2021.
Guilty Plea at West Sussex Court
Crozier, from Aintree Road, Crawley, admitted supplying Class A drugs along with possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine when he appeared at West Sussex Magistrates’ Court in March. On 7 April, Lewes Crown Court sentenced him to three years and nine months behind bars and slapped on £190 costs.
Undercover Surveillance and Phone Evidence
Plainclothes officers spotted Crozier using a burner phone at Waterloo station on 16 December 2021. After confirming the phone was his, detectives analysed its data and found mass messages offering drugs for sale, including “4 for 20 Levi” and “new and better don’t miss out”.
These texts linked Crozier to the ‘Levi’ county line, prompting a raid on his home on 9 March 2022. Police seized heroin, cocaine, cash, a burner phone, and drug-cutting equipment.
Crozier Remains Silent as Police Close In
Arrested for Class A drug offences, Crozier refused to answer questions during police interviews. Detective Superintendent Gareth Williams praised BTP’s round-the-clock efforts:
“Our dedicated teams patrol the railway every day to intercept drug suppliers like Crozier, who use it to peddle their harmful commodities between locations. We can pop up anywhere on the network, in uniform or plain clothes, constantly varying our tactics, including the use of drug detection dogs and behaviour detection experts. Whether you see us or not, we’re on trains and at stations across the UK tackling drug supply wherever it occurs, keeping vulnerable people safe and putting offenders behind bars.”
