Teen Charged After High-Speed Police Chase in Dartford
Police Chase Ends With Knives and Cannabis Seized
Officers on routine patrol spotted a suspicious car at around 2.15pm on Tuesday 11 April 2023, cruising down Thames Road, Dartford. Suspecting the vehicle was sporting fake number plates, police signalled the driver to stop — but the car bolted instead.
The chase ended in Rudland Road, Bexleyheath, where the vehicle screeched to a halt and the occupant jumped out, fleeing on foot.
Teenager Found and Arrested in Nearby Garden
A swift search led officers to a teenage boy hiding in a rear garden. The 17-year-old was arrested on the scene. Inside the abandoned car, police found two knives and a bag containing cannabis. Two mobile phones were also seized, believed to be linked to the supply of class A drugs.
Multiple Charges Filed Against 17-Year-Old
The boy now faces serious charges including aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, supplying cocaine, possession of offensive weapons in public, driving without a licence or insurance, and refusing to provide a specimen for analysis.
Next Court Dates Set
The teenager appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court the very next day, 12 April, and was conditionally bailed. He is due back in Bexley Magistrates’ Court on Friday 14 April to face the charges.
