Teen Caught With Terror Documents Avoids Jail

A 16-year-old lad from Bartley Green admitted to having terror-related documents at Westminster Magistrates Court on March 11. He pleaded guilty to three counts of possessing papers used to prepare an act of terrorism between May 5 and June 23, 2020.

Arrested After Police Raid

The teen was arrested in June 2020 when police executed a warrant at his home. Despite the serious charges, the court opted against sending him to jail.

Strict Rehabilitation Order and Parental Warning

The boy was handed an intensive rehabilitation order. His parents also received a 12-month order tied to his case. The Judge ruled that custody would cause more harm than good but warned: any breach means immediate jail time.
