Ben Freeman’s dodgy drugs deal hit the skids after cops found cocaine stashed in his sock during a car stop on April 21, 2022.

Drug Haul Found at Freeman’s Home

Quick to spill the beans, Freeman confessed to stashing a much bigger drug stash at his Goods Station Road pad. Officers from Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team swooped on the property and uncovered a bag containing over 120 grammes of cocaine and more than £7,000 in cash.

Freeman’s Shaky Excuses Don’t Wash

During questioning, Freeman stonewalled about evidence on his phone—a tick list of customers. He tried to explain away £350 of the seized cash as his partner’s cake-baking money and claimed £475 in his wallet came from selling cigarettes at work.

Jailed for Drugs and Dirty Money

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property. Judge at Maidstone Crown Court slammed him with a 2 year and 4-month prison sentence on February 23, 2023.

“Freeman was arrested thanks to excellent policing by our local officers, stopping a big drugs operation cold,” said Sergeant Ed Kavanagh from Tunbridge Wells Community Policing Team. “Criminals think they can operate here with impunity. We’ve made it clear drug dealers in this town face tough action and prison.”

Freeman now faces a financial probe under the Proceeds of Crime Act to seize any criminal profits made from his drug dealings.
