Knife Attack Shocks Rose Yard Nightspot
In the early hours of 6 May 2023, a night out turned violent in Rose Yard. A man in his 20s left a venue around 2.30am before being stabbed four times in a brutal attack. The victim suffered cuts to his face and arm but was lucky to escape worse.
Suspect Caught Thanks to Sharp-Eyed Security
Nyron Scott, armed with a knife, launched the savage assault. Thanks to quick action by venue security, officers were given CCTV footage that helped track Scott down. He was found nearby in Pudding Lane, and the weapon was recovered from where he’d discarded it in Earl Street.
Scott, 24, from Wantage Road, Reading, was charged and later pled guilty at maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone Crown Court. On 2 November, he was slammed with a 21-month prison sentence.
Police Warn: Knives Mean Jail
“A young man enjoying a night out was seriously hurt by someone who armed themselves deliberately with a knife,” said Detective Constable Kim Bashford of Maidstone CID. “We’re lucky this wasn’t fatal. I want to praise those who gave first aid before paramedics arrived.”
“Security staff helped us detain the attacker fast and bring him to justice. This sentence should send a clear warning: carrying bladed weapons leads only to prison.”
