Drunken thug punches and bites in Nottingham pub brawl – jailed for 10 weeks!
Violent Rampage Outside Nottingham Pub
Daniel Edwards, 29, went on a brutal attack outside the Joseph Else pub in South Parade, Nottingham city centre. He punched one man in the face and bit another on the arm in an unprovoked assault.
The trouble started in the pub’s smoking area when Edwards suddenly turned aggressive. Despite being restrained by a security guard around 9pm on Friday 3 March, Edwards continued his violent rampage.
Swift Arrest and Court Appearance
Edwards was arrested shortly after the incident. At Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday, the man, who has no fixed address, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault.
Claiming he was too drunk to remember the events, Edwards was nonetheless handed a 10-week jail sentence and ordered to pay £50 in compensation.
Police Condemn Brutal Attack
“This was a disgraceful and unprovoked attack that could have caused somebody a serious injury,” said PC Nicole Bass of Nottinghamshire Police. “I am pleased that Edwards has been dealt with so quickly by the courts and hope this case serves as a warning to others about the consequences of this type of behaviour.”
