Woman Slashed at Speakers’ Corner: Police Hunt Suspect
Police were called to Speakers’ Corner, London, at 3.34pm on Sunday, 25 July following reports of an assault.
Officers found a 39-year-old woman with a minor slash wound to her head. She was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service (LAS) medics before being rushed to a central London hospital. Thankfully, her injuries are not life-threatening.
Knife Recovered; Investigation Underway
A knife was recovered nearby after a police search of the area. Officers from Westminster and the Royal Parks Operational Command Unit (OCU) are working together to identify and track down the attacker.
Detective Appeals to Witnesses: Send Footage to Police
“This was clearly a very distressing incident for the woman involved,” said Detective Superintendent Alex Bingley. “Officers spoke with her while she received treatment to get an account of what happened. The assault was witnessed by many, some of whom recorded it on their phones. If you have footage, please contact police immediately.”
“We’re in the early stages of the investigation and urge the public not to speculate about motives until we have the full facts.”
No Arrests Yet – Police Seek Public Help
No one has been arrested so far. Enquiries continue as police appeal for anyone with information to come forward.
