Grim Mugging Outside Bingo Hall Ends in Jail
Michelle Hall, 57, launched a shocking robbery attack on a 72-year-old woman outside Winners Bingo Hall in Wisbech on the evening of 5 February.
£2 Request Turns Violent
At around 7.30pm on Hill Street, Hall approached the elderly victim asking for £2 to buy food. When the pensioner reached for her wallet, Hall snatched it and struck her in the face, leaving scratches.
Fierce Struggle Leads to Theft
A desperate tussle ensued. Hall grabbed the woman’s handbag, landed another blow to her face, then made off with both handbag and wallet.
Caught on CCTV and Sent Down
Police identified Hall from CCTV footage and arrested her the same night. Yesterday at Peterborough Crown Court, the Wisbech resident was sentenced to three and a half years behind bars after pleading guilty to robbery.
