Paedophile Trio Sent Down for Shocking Child Abuse

A vile child abuse gang has finally been locked up after sickening evidence came to light during a tough police hunt. Vicki Bevan, along with two men, Tony Hutton and Paul Rafferty, were caught sharing indecent images and sexually abusing children in St Helens.

Evidence From Phone Sparks Raid

Back in June 2021, a convicted paedophile’s phone revealed chilling images and videos of children. The mobile number linked to these horrific materials was traced to Vicki Bevan. Further messages implicated Bevan in sexually abusing kids alongside Hutton and Rafferty.

Police raided Bevan’s home and seized laptops and phones packed with indecent images shared with her two accomplices.

Multiple Charges and Guilty Pleas

  • Bevan was arrested in October 2021 and initially charged with 11 offences.
  • Her indictment later ballooned to a total of 34 charges.
  • All three pleaded guilty at Liverpool Crown Court in January 2022.

Bevan was given a life sentence, serving a minimum of 10 years for rape, multiple counts of child sexual assault and distributing indecent images.

Paul Rafferty, 62, received 10 years plus a 4-year extended license for child rape and indecent image offences.

Tony Hutton, 42, was jailed for 4 years for sexual assault and indecent photos of children.

Police Praise Teamwork and Urge Reports of Abuse

“These extremely disturbing crimes caused immeasurable harm to the victims and destroyed lives,” said Detective Chief Inspector Allison Woods.

“Thanks to relentless work between Merseyside Police and St Helens Social Services, these offenders are behind bars where they can no longer threaten children.”

“If you suspect any form of child abuse, please report it. Our specialist team takes every report seriously and will ensure victims receive justice.”
