Folkestone Man Charged After Brutal Home Assault and Spitting at Police

A 35-year-old suspect faces four serious charges after allegedly attacking a man inside a Folkestone home and then spitting at police officers three times.

Victim Suffers Facial Injuries in Shocking Attack

The victim, a man in his 50s, was reportedly assaulted inside a private property off Wood Avenue at around 12:30pm on 1 October. He sustained facial injuries during the incident.

Suspect Arrested with Knife, Faces Multiple Charges

Kent Police quickly responded to the scene and arrested Adam Woolnough, who was found carrying a retractable knife. Woolnough, who has no fixed address, is charged with:

  • Assault
  • Making threats to kill
  • Possessing a knife in a public place
  • Assaulting an emergency services worker

He is also accused of spitting at a police officer on three separate occasions during his arrest.

Legal Proceedings Underway

Woolnough was remanded in custody ahead of his first court appearance at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 3 October. He remains in custody and is set to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on 2 November.
