Leeds Burglar and Armed Robber Brought to Justice
Alan Skey, a Leeds man, was arrested on April 17 after a relentless investigation by Leeds CID and the Neighbourhood Policing Team. The next day, he was charged with six burglaries and two armed robberies.
Guilty Plea Seals His Fate
On May 31, Skey pleaded guilty to all eight offences committed between 1 and 15 April 2022 at Leeds Crown Court. He also admitted six more crimes during the same period under the Theft in Consideration (TIC) programme.
Police Praise Thorough Investigation
“We are happy with today’s punishment for Skey since it is a substantial result of a thorough and efficient investigation earlier this year,” said Detective Sergeant Andrew Greatorex of Leeds CID.
“Many businesses in the city centre suffered due to his attacks on premises and employees. We hope this conviction reassures all those affected by Skey’s criminal actions.”
