Ex-Met Cop Caught Faking Crime Reports Over 100 Times
Former PC Parvir Panesar, once with the Crime Recording Investigation Bureau, has been slammed for gross misconduct after falsifying details in 121 crime reports. The documents, spanning January to May 2021, falsely claimed he tried contacting victims and sought CCTV footage — but he never did.
Gross Misconduct Ruled: Dismissal If Still Serving
Assistant Commissioner Barbara Gray, who chaired the hearing, said Panesar’s actions broke the Standards of Professional Behaviour on Honesty, Integrity, and Duties. She ruled his behaviour so serious that if he were still serving, he’d have been fired immediately.
Panesar quit the Metropolitan Police on 5 June 2022, avoiding formal dismissal.
Top Brass Condemn Betrayal of Public Trust
Commander Kyle Gordon, head of the Crime Recording Investigation Bureau, blasted Panesar:
“He was the first point of contact for victims. His job was to care and collect vital information for investigations. Instead, he let down victims and damaged trust in policing. Officers who neglect their duties like this have no place in the Met.”
Panesar Barred From Future Police Work
Panesar’s name will be added to the College of Policing’s Barred List, banning him from working for any police force, Police and Crime Commissioners, the Independent Office for Police Conduct, or fire and rescue services across the UK. His policing career is officially over.
