Drug Dealer Nabbed with £8k of Crack and Heroin in Shocking Kent Raid
Massive Haul Found in Kent Home
Peter Baars, 53, was caught after Kent Police raided his Sotherton, Willesborough residence on the morning of 19 March 2021. Officers uncovered a stash of crack cocaine and heroin worth around £8,000 on the street.
Deadly Weapons Seized Alongside Drugs
Police also found a taser disguised as a torch and two large knives. Baars wasn’t at home during the raid but was arrested nearby.
Evidence Links Baars to Drug Dealing
A phone seized from the scene contained messages about dealing drugs and mentioned someone called ‘P’, who investigators confirmed was Baars.
Six Years Inside for Baars
Charged with possession with intent to supply crack and heroin plus possession of a prohibited weapon, Baars denied all charges. However, a jury found him guilty after trial. On 28 January 2022 at Canterbury Crown Court, he was locked up for six years.
“The knives and disguised taser found at Baars’ flat show the violent means drug dealers are prepared to use as they exploit vulnerable people in our communities,” said PC Alessandro Ottaviani, Kent Police’s lead investigator.
“Baars tried to deny his involvement, but our investigation convinced the jury. The court’s sentence reflects the seriousness of his crimes.”
