Shock in Farnborough: Boy, 8, Targeted in Shopping Centre Toilets
Police are hunting witnesses after a sick attempt to assault an eight-year-old boy in Farnborough’s Princess Mead Shopping Centre.
Man Tried to Pull Down Boy’s Trousers
The shocking incident happened on Sunday, July 10, between 1.45pm and 2pm. The boy was inside the shopping centre toilets when a man tried to yank down his trousers. Thankfully, the boy screamed, escaped the restrooms, and found his mum. No injuries were caused.
Suspect Arrested But Released on Bail
Farnborough cops swooped and arrested a 19-year-old suspect on suspicion of assaulting a boy under 13 by touching. He’s now out on conditional bail as investigations continue.
Cops Appeal for Witnesses to Step Forward
Detectives think someone in or near the toilets might have seen or heard something. They’ve reviewed CCTV and are desperate for info.
“We know this will cause concern in the community,” said Detective Constable Holly Searle. “But rest assured, we’re taking this very seriously and investigating fully.”
