Sick Predator Snapped After Daring Police Chase
Jason Vincent Longhurst, 44, was set to begin a nine-year prison sentence for the brutal sex attack on an unconscious teenage girl back in 2011. But he skipped his hearing at York Crown Court on 9 September, leaving judges no choice but to jail him in his absence.
Exposed: The Appalling Attack
North Yorkshire Police revealed the chilling details: Longhurst throttled the girl with a jumper until she passed out, then raped her while she was a guest in his home. Sgt Hannah McPeake slammed him as a “sickening predator” who “showed no remorse for his actions or the pain he inflicted on his victim.”
High-Speed Arrest in East Yorkshire
Longhurst’s freedom was short-lived. Police arrested him on Tuesday after the car he was in refused to stop, sparking a daring police pursuit in East Yorkshire.
Following his arrest, Longhurst appeared at York Crown Court the same day to be handed his sentence and begin his jail term.
More Trouble Ahead?
Longhurst is due back in court on 9 November where judges will decide if he faces further charges for absconding.
