Man Arrested After Van Incident on New Romney High Street

A man has been arrested following a chaotic disturbance on New Romney’s High Street.

Van Driven at Men in Shocking Scuffle

Kent Police were called at 11:45am on Tuesday, 14 January 2020 after reports that two men were assaulted in a dispute involving people who know each other. In a frightening twist, a van was driven at the pair — though it did not make contact. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.

Suspect Bailed as Police Investigate

A 48-year-old man from the Tenterden area was arrested on suspicion of assault and dangerous driving. He has since been bailed until 5 February 2020.
