Two Men Busted in Margate Firearms Sting
Police Crack Down on Milton Avenue
Officers in Margate acted fast after spotting suspicious behaviour on Milton Avenue on the night of Saturday, June 18, 2022. Their quick response led to three arrests and a major haul of illegal items.
Firearm and Cocaine Seized
During the raid, officers seized a firearm and a stash of suspected cocaine. The operation turned violent when a police officer was punched and kicked in the line of duty.
Two Charged, One Under Investigation
- Alex Vassallo, 28, from Gladstone Road, Broadstairs, faces charges including handgun possession, cocaine supply, obstructing police, and assaulting an emergency worker.
- Lee Walker, 35, of Honeysuckle Close, Margate, is charged with handgun possession and possession of cocaine with intent to supply.
Both men appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday, June 20, and were remanded in custody. They are due back at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday, July 18.
A 38-year-old man arrested the same night has been released under investigation as police continue to probe the case.
