Teen Charged After Deadly Catapult Spree in Ashford
A 17-year-old boy from Ashford faces multiple charges after a shocking series of catapult attacks. The offences include assaulting a man and killing a wild bird in a local graveyard.
Catapult Assault on Simon Avenue
Kent Police say the drama kicked off on Thursday, 20 February 2025. A man was hit by a catapult on Simon Avenue, Ashford. When confronted, the suspect reportedly launched a further assault on the victim.
Wildlife Attack in Christ Church Graveyard

Arrest and Charges
The teenager was arrested on 24 February. He now faces charges of assault, possession of an offensive weapon, and killing a wild bird. The boy has been released on bail and is due in Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 10 June 2025.
“These were serious and concerning incidents involving violence against both a member of the public and wildlife,” said a Kent Police spokesperson. “We are committed to holding offenders accountable, especially when offences impact community safety and protected species.”
