Man causes chaos on high street

Police were called to the high street at around 1.40pm on 30 May 2021 after public complaints about a man acting anti-socially.

Racist verbal abuse leads to arrest

Officers approached the suspect, Kevin Ward, 45, of no fixed address. He hurled racist insults at the police and bystanders before being arrested.

Further charges piled on in custody

While behind bars, Ward damaged a cell, assaulted an emergency worker, and used threatening language to cause harassment, alarm, and distress.

Next court appearance set

Ward appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 1 June 2021. He was granted bail to return on 2 July 2021.
