Ammonia Attack Horror: Man Jailed for 10 Years After Face Assault
A man who sprayed ammonia in a woman’s face has been locked up for over a decade. Mohammed Susso, 20, from Bolton, was sentenced to 10 years and two months after pleading guilty to assault and robbery.
Shocking Attack with Machete and Ammonia
The court heard the brutal assault took place in June 2022 in Little Hulton, Salford. Susso met the victim and once inside her car, pulled a machete from his waistband to threaten her. When she resisted, he fled but returned moments later with a hidden bottle of ammonia.
He sprayed the caustic chemical directly into her eyes, causing agonising pain and permanent corneal damage. Susso then stole her car and fled the scene.
Victim’s Heartbreaking Statement
“I feel like my independence has been completely taken away from me, due not only to the damage caused to my eyes but also the feeling of having no control over what happened,” the victim said.
“I feel completely overwhelmed and never felt like that before the attack. My life has been on hold ever since June last year. I now just want to move past it and hope this court decision helps me do that.”
Police Praise and Warning for Susso
Detective Constable Amy Yates of Salford CID said: “This was a shockingly violent attack and I commend the victim for her bravery. Her courage helped bring Susso to justice.”
“Susso has shown no remorse and is a dangerous individual. Thankfully, he will now spend a long time behind bars. I hope he uses this time to reflect on the lifelong harm he caused.”
