17-Year-Old Arrested After Attempted Moped Theft
A 17-year-old boy from Seaford has been charged following an attempted moped theft on Princes Road, Eastbourne. Police were called to the scene around 11pm on Tuesday after the incident was reported.
Multiple Charges Stack Up Against Teen
The teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faces a slew of charges including:
- Taking a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent
- Driving while disqualified
- Driving without the proper licence
- Using a vehicle without third-party insurance on a public road
- Possession of a Class B controlled drug – cannabis
He has since been released on conditional bail and is due to appear at Hastings Youth Court on Monday 20 March.
Police Warn of Rising Motorbike Theft in Eastbourne
Police Constable Marcus Cox from Eastbourne’s Criminal Investigation Department urged residents to stay alert. We have seen a spate of thefts and attempted thefts of motorbikes in Eastbourne over recent weeks,” he said.
“We are asking the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour to us.”
