Vandal Sent to Jail After Launching Brick Attack on Cars in Gravesend
A brazen yob smashed up five cars in Gravesend over just three days — and now he’s behind bars.
Brick and Rock Rampage at Car Dealership
Neil Burt, 65, went on a destructive spree on the evening of Tuesday 21 January 2025. He hurled bricks at four parked Vauxhalls at a car dealership in Overcliffe, smashing a windscreen and leaving scratches, gouges, and scuffs.
Quick Arrest and Court Appearance
Burt was nabbed just 30 minutes after the attack. At Medway Magistrates’ Court two days later, he admitted four counts of criminal damage and was immediately jailed for eight weeks.
Additional Damage at Police Station
The day before the dealership attack, Burt threw a rock at a car windscreen parked outside North Kent Police Station. He admitted this separate incident at the same court session and was hit with a total £740 compensation bill for all five damaged cars.
