Lewes Road Harasser Jamie Parsons Back Behind Bars
Parsons jailed again for stalking women
Jamie Parsons, 32, from Lewes Road, is back in custody after fresh reports emerged in early March of him harassing and threatening women. He had already served time for multiple nuisance offences, but his relentless behaviour forced the police to act once again.
Restraining order issued
Parsons now faces a strict restraining order banning him from entering or loitering outside two local shops. He is also forbidden from contacting or following the women involved.
Police vow to crack down on harassment
“Jamie Parsons is an infamous presence around the Lewes Road area, particularly to women, well-known for his vile, threatening comments and behaviour,” said Superintendent Adele Tucknott, Sussex Police’s lead for violence against women and girls.
“As soon as we became aware Parsons was once again harassing women, we launched an immediate investigation and arrested him. We believe there may be other victims who haven’t yet come forward and urge anyone affected to contact us online or call 101. In an emergency, call 999.”
“Violence against women and girls is a deep-rooted societal issue. We take these offences seriously, especially the insidious behaviour that makes women feel unsafe. It’s vital to clamp down on this early to prevent worse crimes.”
“This problem goes beyond policing. We all share the responsibility to challenge sexism and misogyny wherever they appear.”
