Four Charged Over Spate of Medway and Gravesend Burglaries
Four suspects have been arrested and charged following a series of 23 home burglaries across Medway and Gravesend. The crimes took place between September 15 and December 31, 2023, with thieves making off with cash, jewellery, and designer clothes.
Kent Crime Squad Cracks the Case
The Kent Crime Squad led the investigation, making swift progress. Three suspects were caught on January 3 and 4, 2024, and a fourth was detained on January 11. Their arrests have brought relief to local residents shaken by the break-ins.

- Alan Byrne, 56, of Middle Park Avenue, Eltham, Greater London.
- Gary Byrne, 51, of Booth Close, Thamesmead.
- Craig McCabe, 32, of Wodehouse Road, Dartford.
- Kieran McCabe, 22, of Booth Close, Thamesmead.
Court Appearances and Charges
Alan Byrne, Gary Byrne, and Craig McCabe have been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. They appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 5, 2024. Alan and Gary Byrne were remanded in custody while Craig McCabe was granted conditional bail ahead of a Woolwich Crown Court hearing scheduled for February 2.
Kieran McCabe also faces conspiracy charges and has been remanded. He will appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on January 12, 2024.
