Cross-Border Car Theft Gang Nabbed – Over 40 Years Behind Bars!
A ruthless gang behind a spree of high-value car thefts and home burglaries across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Warwickshire have been slammed with a combined 40-year prison sentence.
Burglaries Stretch Across Three Counties
Between September 2020 and January 2021, the gang targeted 15 homes and tried breaking into seven more. They stole car keys, took high-end cars, slapped on false number plates, then sold them or used the vehicles for more crime. Many stolen rides ended up in South Yorkshire. Total losses hit a whopping £329,000.
The Crooks and Their Sentences
- Cory Heald (21), Arnold: The gang’s organiser got 4 years 10 months for conspiracy to commit burglary and hiding criminal goods.
- Dylan Stone (22), Eastwood: Rapper who boasted about the crimes sentenced to 5 years 10 months for conspiracy to burgle.
- Benjamin Wild (25), HMP Wellingborough: Locked up for 6 years 2 months.
- Declan Russell (25), HMP Wellingborough: Used taxis to hit targets, jailed for 6 years 2 months.
- Jordan Chaplin (23), nottingham/" title="Nottingham" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Nottingham: Received 3 years 5 months for burglary and concealing stolen property.
- Cameron Mickle (27), Cropwell Bishop: Gang’s driver and hideout provider got 2 years 8 months.
- Reece Stephens (23), Nottingham: Supplying false plates and selling stolen motors earned him 2 years 8 months.
- Jamie Bentley (34), HMP Nottingham: Arrested 15 minutes after a break-in, sentenced to 6 years 4 months.
- Aynsley Rayner (31), Cropwell Bishop: Supporter given a 2-year suspended sentence for aiding offenders.

Detective Constable Richard Shaw said:
“This was a tough case involving many offenders across different forces. Our hard work built a watertight case that delivered justice.”
