Teen Charged After Cop Injured in Twickenham Moped Incident

An 18-year-old has been charged following a violent encounter with police in Twickenham that left an officer hurt.

Serious Charges Laid Against Flanagan

On Tuesday, 21 May, 18-year-old Flanagan of Bell Lane, Twickenham, was hit with multiple charges including grievous bodily harm (GBH) with intent to resist arrest, possession of a bladed article, carrying an offensive weapon, and riding on a stolen vehicle.

He was remanded and ordered to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 22 May.

Incident Details: Moped Suspects Nabbed

Police were called to the Jubilee Avenue underpass in Whitton at 3.30pm on Monday, 20 May. Officers responded to reports of two men acting suspiciously on a moped.

Both males were detained at the scene. A 16-year-old boy from Twickenham was also arrested but has since been released under investigation.
