Maidstone Man Jailed for Knife Attack That Left Victim with Permanent Foot Damage
Knife Thrown in Furious Attack
Christopher Green, 33, from Fairmeadow, Maidstone, has been locked up after throwing a knife at a woman, hitting her foot and causing long-term injury. Green threatened to kill the victim before the violent assault.
Agitated After Reading Texts
On 27 November 2018, Green was at the victim’s home when he became enraged after reading her text messages. He shouted, “You will not get out of here alive,” before hurling the knife at her foot.
Victim Faces Long Road to Recovery
Although treated immediately, the wound worsened, and the victim was hospitalised six days later. Doctors warned she might never fully regain use of her foot.
Justice Served After Abuse Comes to Light
The victim revealed in April 2019 that she had endured an abusive and manipulative relationship with Green. Following her report, police arrested Green on 15 April. He later pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
On 22 September 2020, Green was sentenced to four years in jail at Maidstone Crown Court.
“I sincerely hope his victim can now take some comfort from this sentence and is able to move on with her life,” said investigating officer PC Annalisa Bevans.
