Hammer Horror: Man Attacks Women Twice in Shocking Assaults
Christopher Thomas, 54, from Beaconsfield, Brookside, Telford, brutalised two women with a claw hammer in January 2020.
The violent attacks happened just four days apart, on January 20 and January 24. Both victims suffered terrifying assaults to their person.
Convicted on All Charges Including Offensive Weapon
Thomas was found guilty at a December 2020 trial, not only for the attacks but also for possession of an offensive weapon. Justice has finally caught up with him.
Police Praise Victims’ Bravery and Urge Public to Speak Out
Detective Constable Lisa Roberts led the investigation. She said:
“These were shocking offences and we want the public to know West Mercia Police takes such crimes very seriously. Convictions like this only happen thanks to public support.”
Roberts added,
“We commend the bravery of the victims and witnesses involved. We hope this sentence reassures the public and encourages all victims to come forward.”
