Beaconsfield Man Jailed for Hammer Attacks on Women

A 54-year-old man from Beaconsfield, Telford, has been found guilty of terrifying hammer attacks on two women.

Claw Hammer Used in Brutal Assaults

Christopher Thomas launched his vicious attacks on January 20 and January 24, 2020, using a claw hammer on both female victims. He was also convicted for possessing an offensive weapon.

Thomas was found guilty on all charges after a trial that wrapped up in December 2020.

Police Praise Victims and Witnesses for Bravery

Detective Constable Lisa Roberts said, “These were shocking offences and we would like to emphasise to the public that West Mercia Police take these types of offences very seriously. Convictions and sentences such as this are only possible with the engagement of the public in supporting our investigations.”

“We commend the bravery of the victims and witnesses involved. I hope this sentence reassures the public and encourages victims of any crime to come forward.”
