Festive Patrol Nabs Drug Dealer with Machete in Ashford

Inspector Richard Batten and Sergeant Kim Cameron of the Ashford Community Safety Unit were on their usual evening patrol during the busy festive season when they spotted something suspicious near Regents Place.

Man Arrested on Drugs and Weapon Charges

Acting on their instincts, the officers detained an 18-year-old man nearby. A thorough search uncovered a machete and a bag containing around 200 wraps of class A drugs.

18-Year-Old Facing Serious Charges

Timothy Ndombele, from Rodendale Road, was charged the next day with possession of crack cocaine with intent to supply, and possessing a bladed article in a public place.

Next Court Date Set for New Year

Ndombele appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court and was remanded in custody. His case is due to return at Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday 2 January 2024.
