Tipton Man Jailed for Trying to Abuse Teen Boy
John Harrison, 74, from Tipton in the Midlands, has been slammed with a 30-month prison sentence. The old pervert was caught trying to meet a 14-year-old boy for sex. The National Crime Agency (NCA) launched a full-scale probe that nailed him.
Paedo Caught Red-Handed
The investigation began after NCA officers spotted Harrison swapping indecent images of kids on social media. He was first arrested back in February 2021, with several devices seized. But new intel showed he was back at it, targeting a 14-year-old on the same platform.
Shocking Evidence on Devices
Authorities found chilling messages where Harrison tried arranging sexual activity with the boy. His devices were packed with illegal content: 482 Category A images (the worst kind), 960 Category B, and 2,330 Category C indecent photos of children.
Repeat Offender with Dark Past
Harrison pleaded guilty in Birmingham Crown Court in March 2023. He was charged with making indecent images, possession of extreme images, and attempting sexual activity with a child. On June 26, 2024, he was hit with a 2.5-year jail term. Not a first-time offender, Harrison was already on the sex offenders register since 2014 for similar disgusting crimes.
NCA Vows to Protect Kids
Danielle Pownall, Operations Manager at the NCA, said: “John Harrison is a prolific offender, pursuing contact with children and continuing his offending even after arrest. The images he shared show the brutal abuse of vulnerable kids. The NCA won’t stop until those seeking this vile material are behind bars.”
