Five Years On: Heartbreaking Tribute for Murdered Teen CJ

A touching plaque has been unveiled in Newham, east London, to honour Corey Junior Davis – known as CJ – who was brutally shot dead over six years ago. The teen’s tragic death still haunts the community, as detectives desperately seek fresh leads.

Playground Shooting Shocks Forest Gate

CJ, just 14, was gunned down at around 3pm on September 4, 2017, while at a playground on Moore Walk, Forest Gate. Despite three arrests, no one has ever been charged for the cold-blooded murder.

Police have now sweetened the pot with a £20,000 reward for any information that helps catch the killers.

Detectives Plead for Public Help

“We need the public to point us towards those responsible for CJ’s murder,” said Detective Chief Inspector Dave Whellams, who is leading the probe.

He revealed chilling details: “A Range Rover pulled up nearby. One man got out the driver’s side, walked over to a group of lads, pulled out a shotgun, and fired twice. CJ was one of the two hit.”

Whellams added, “The area was targeted because certain groups hang around there, and CJ just happened to be there with friends.”

Key Leads: Stolen Range Rover Spotted After Crime

Investigators are hunting for witnesses who saw the metallic grey Range Rover used in the attack. The vehicle had been stolen from Balham two weeks earlier and was last seen heading from Beckton along Romford Road towards the A406 just after 3pm on the day of the shooting.

CJ’s mother, Keisha McLeod, joined the recent memorial unveiling. The emotions ran deep as the community rallied for justice.

If you know anything, contact cops on 020 8345 3775 or anonymously via Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111. Help bring CJ’s killer to justice.
