Young Woman Charged After Deadly Crash Kills Teen Passenger
A fatal crash on the A4 Bradford Road in Corsham has ended the life of 19-year-old Rosa Taylor. Now, the driver of the car faces serious charges.
Tragedy Strikes on A4 Bradford Road
Rosa Taylor died instantly when a massive Scania tipper lorry smashed into the Hyundai i10 she was travelling in on 24 July 2025.
The crash happened at the junction with B3109 Bradford Road. Rescue teams rushed three air ambulances to the scene. Medics fought to save Rosa and two other casualties — two women and one man — who suffered serious injuries. Despite their valiant efforts, Rosa was pronounced dead at the scene.
Driver Charged with Causing Death by Careless Driving
Abbey Ridgway, 26, the Hyundai’s driver, has been charged with causing death by careless driving. She’s from Ennerdale, Skelmersdale, Lancashire.
Ridgway is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates Court tomorrow (24 March) over the fatal smash.
Heartbreaking Tribute to “Bright Spirit” Rosa
Rosa, a talented performer on her way to an event, was remembered by her father, Gareth Taylor, as “the most beautiful person inside and out.”
“She was the very definition of a spirit that shines brightly and dies young, loved by anyone who met her,” he posted on Facebook.
“She passed away instantly at the scene and without pain.”
The tragedy has rocked Corsham’s community, leaving heartbreak and grief in its wake.
