Grotesque Crimes of Hospital Mortuary Monster Uncovered

Louis Fuller has admitted to chilling sexual offences linked to indecent images and extreme pornography involving children. The vile acts date back over decades and include horrific assaults on deceased women and children.

Fuller Arrested Over 1987 Double Murders

Fuller was arrested on 3 December 2020 following the murders of Caroline Pierce and Wendy Knell, both from Tunbridge Wells. Charged on 4 December, he appeared at Medway Magistrates Court the next day and was remanded in custody. Investigations by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate uncovered evidence of further depravity at Fuller’s home.

Appalling Abuse in Hospital Mortuaries Exposed

  • 44 offences tied to 78 deceased females, including children and elderly women over 85 years old
  • Sexual assaults took place in mortuaries at maidstone/" title="Maidstone" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells hospitals from 2008 to 2020
  • Investigators worked closely with NHS Trusts and coroners for evidence and victim identification

Detective Chief Superintendent Paul Fotheringham slammed Fuller’s sick crimes, saying: “Fuller used his role as an electrician at these two hospitals to carry out these heinous acts on deceased victims. Not only did he kill and assault two young innocent women in 1987, who should have had their whole lives in front of them, he then continued his horrific offending by defiling multiple victims and traumatising their grieving families beyond comprehension.”

Hundreds of Victims Identified, Investigation Ongoing

So far, 81 victims in the mortuary abuse case have been formally identified with trained family liaison officers supporting the families. Authorities have uncovered evidence pointing to around 100 victims but warn some may never be named due to lack of information.

Detectives urge the public not to interfere, explaining their sensitive enquiries are ongoing to privately inform families affected. They have reviewed extensive medical and coronial records with all findings carefully overseen by senior police and coroner officials.

Noel McHugh of the NCA’s Major Crime Investigative Support said: “The agency is proud to have helped Kent Police bring justice to the families of Wendy, Caroline and Fuller’s many other victims whom he deprived of dignity in death. This was an utterly horrific case and the victims and their families are paramount in our thoughts.”
