Staffordshire Police Hit Out at Dangerous Drivers

“During the closure, 24 drivers made the dangerous decision to drive the wrong way down the motorway. All 24 will be prosecuted,” Staffordshire Police said on X (formerly Twitter).

The force warned that wrong-way driving on a motorway is a serious hazard, endangering not just those drivers but other road users and emergency crews working at the scene.

The M54 has now reopened to traffic.
