Coulsdon Murder Victim Named: Michael Lavery Dies After Brutal Attack
Detectives have named Michael Lavery, 59, as the man brutally assaulted and killed in Coulsdon last Friday.
Fatal Attack Inside Coulsdon Flat
Michael was found with severe head injuries and stab wounds at a flat off Reddown Road. Emergency crews arrived at 9.27pm after reports of a seriously injured man.
Tragically, despite frantic efforts, Michael was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after 10pm.
Cause of Death and Suspect Arrested
A post-mortem confirmed blunt force trauma and stab wounds as the cause of death.
Police arrested a man in his 30s near the scene. He was taken to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell, then held in custody. He has now been bailed on suspicion of murder.
