Poplar Pedal Robbery: Victims Urged to Come Forward

Detectives are hunting for victims of a brazen robbery along a Poplar canal path. Cops want those involved to step up after a witness caught the shocking theft on camera.

Robbery Caught on Camera

The drama unfolded at around 6pm on Sunday, 23 August, outside Yeoman Court, Tweed Walk, E14. Two victims, a man and a woman, were approached by suspects while walking on the canal path.

One of the victims had a pedal cycle snatched right before their eyes. Thanks to the witness footage, police quickly sprang into action.

Two Teens Arrested and Charged

Officers arrested two males, aged 17 and 19, and have charged them with robbery. Both remain in custody as investigations continue.

“Although we have charged two people, I am keen to hear from the victims in this case,” said Detective Constable Mike Bradley.

“If you are the victims, or think you know who they are, please get in touch. We need their account for future proceedings and to ensure they get support or advice.”
