Teen Stabbed to Death in Richmond – Police Hunt Witnesses
Tragedy struck Richmond late on Thursday, 17 March, when police were called to reports of a stabbing on Maguire Drive at around 11.20pm. Despite no victims being found at the scene, three men showed up at hospital with stab wounds shortly after. One of them, Mirko, sadly died despite medical efforts.
Man Arrested for Murder as Investigation Intensifies
A post-mortem confirmed Mirko’s death was caused by a stab wound. Police arrested an 18-year-old man on Monday, 21 March, on suspicion of murder. He remains in custody. Four others – two females aged 17 and 52, and two men aged 19 and 20 – were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender but have since been released on bail.
Detective Pleads for Witnesses to Come Forward
“We have made significant progress with our investigation but believe there are other witnesses who have not yet spoken to us,” said Detective Chief Inspector Geoff Grogan.
“I urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to contact my team or 101 as soon as possible.”
“Mirko’s family are heartbroken and we are using all resources to get them answers.”
