Five Charged Over Fatal Shooting of Sharmake Mohamud
Five suspects have been charged in connection with the murder of 22-year-old Sharmake Mohamud and the attempted murder of two other men. The charged include Rashed Musa, 24, of North Circular Road, Mehdi Younes, 21, of Bowes Road, Abdul Mohamed, 24, of Corinium Close, and two 16-year-old boys.
Sixth Teen Charged With Perverting Justice
A sixth male, just 14 years old, faces charges of perverting the course of justice. All six are set to appear in custody at 1 Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, 20 November.
Night of Terror on West Green Road
Police were called at 10:13pm on Tuesday, 21 September, following reports of a shooting near 1 Lanes, close to West Green Road, N8. Sharmake Mohamud was found with gunshot wounds and tragically died at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.
Two other men in their 20s and 30s also suffered gunshot injuries but have since been treated and discharged.
Previous Arrests and Ongoing Court Proceedings
Four men in their early 20s were arrested on suspicion of murder on 22 September but have since been released without charge. Meanwhile, Ali Cessay, 28, with no fixed address, was charged and appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on 28 October. He remains in custody and will next appear at the Old Bailey on 17 January 2022.
