Night Coppers Returns to Tackle Brighton’s Nighttime Mayhem
Channel 4’s hit series Night Coppers is back for a brand new season, shining a raw spotlight on Sussex Police’s tough night shifts across Brighton and Hove. Get ready for an unflinching look at the gritty reality faced by officers patrolling the city’s buzzing nightlife, where chaos and danger lurk around every corner.
Fresh Footage from the Frontline of Nighttime Policing
Filmed over the summer, the new series continues to capture the heroic efforts of response officers, custody staff, and contact centre teams as they keep the streets safe after dark. The first episode airs on Tuesday, 26 March, exclusively on Channel 4.
Behind the Badge: Officers’ Humanity on Full Display
Produced by acclaimed Blast Films—famous for gripping documentaries like 999: What’s Your Emergency and Forensics: The Real CSI—the show promises even more compelling stories that reveal the hard work behind maintaining order in Brighton’s vibrant nightlife.
“Night Coppers shows the realities of frontline policing and demonstrates the determination, compassion and humanity of our officers, staff and community partners,” said Chief Superintendent Rachel Carr, Brighton and Hove Divisional Commander. “We also wanted to show the side of policing that goes beyond the uniform. Our officers are human beings, with families, friends and private lives, who perform an extraordinary service under challenging circumstances.”
New Recruits, Familiar Faces, and Gritty Truths
Sarah Spencer, Executive Producer at Blast Films, revealed the latest run will deepen the dive into the minds of Brighton’s response officers. “With new recruits and some returning faces, this series will be character-led, visually gripping and immersive, capturing the raw reality of policing the city’s streets at night without relying on master interviews or commentary.”
Channel 4 Commissioning Executive Simon Cheuk Pong Lee added: “I’m thrilled Night Coppers is back. It’s a brilliant mix of fascinating stories that highlight the incredible work Sussex Police do in this socially charged city. The second series is even more engaging than the first with a strong cast of returning and new officers.”
