Maidstone Man Pleads Not Guilty to Killer Driving Charges on M26

Nigel Butler, 57, of The White House, Headcorn Road, Maidstone, has formally denied two charges of death by dangerous driving. The horrific crash on October 15, 2020, on the M26 coastbound carriageway near Wrotham claimed two lives.

Two Victims Lost in Brutal M26 Crash

  • David Boaler died after Butler allegedly drove dangerously in a mechanically propelled vehicle.
  • Reece Watson was also killed in the same incident while Butler was behind the wheel of an LDV Maxus.

The charges refer to breaches of Section 1 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 and Schedule 2 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988.

Maidstone Crown Court Trial Set to Unfold

Butler’s trial is scheduled to begin this Monday at Maidstone Crown Court in Court 1. The proceedings are expected to last five days as the case is heard nearly two years after the tragic crash.
