A Cardiff man has been slammed behind bars after cops stopped his vehicle and found a stash of drugs, cash, and a knife in a major police bust.
Caught Red-Handed in Swindon
31-year-old Liberte Nambu, from Wellington Street, Cardiff, was pulled over on March 8 in Swindon after cops clocked dodgy driving. Officers soon discovered Nambu was wanted on recall to prison.
During a thorough search, police uncovered:
- Suspected Class A drugs, including cocaine, crack cocaine, and heroin
- A knife carried in public
- Four mobile phones
- A significant amount of cash
Nambu was arrested on the spot and taken into custody. Subsequent tests confirmed the drugs’ identity.
Police Praise Team Effort in Major Bust
“Following this vehicle stop, officers seized a substantial amount of class A drugs, a weapon, cash and multiple mobile phones which evidenced extensive drug dealing,” said Insp Rich Marshall. “I am pleased we have intercepted this drugs line and prevented it from reaching vulnerable people in Swindon.”
Insp Marshall lauded the teamwork of firearms officers, response units, the dog squad, and Volume Crime Team for cracking down on serious crime in the area.
Remanded Ahead of Sentencing
Nambu pleaded guilty on March 9 at Swindon Magistrates Court to possession with intent to supply multiple class A drugs and carrying a knife in public. He was remanded in custody ahead of sentencing.
