Eighth Arrest Made in Southampton Murder Probe
Police have made a fresh arrest in the murder investigation of Michael Freshwater, bringing the total to eight.
New Arrest Over Case
Detectives have detained a 30-year-old woman from Southampton on suspicion of perverting the course of justice. This follows the arrest of a 25-year-old man on the same charge, who was bailed until July 6.
Michael Freshwater Found Dead
Michael’s body was discovered at a Southampton address on Westridge Road shortly after 4.15pm on Friday, April 29. The tragedy has shaken the local community.
Investigation Ongoing
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Superintendent Becky Riggs said: “We are continuing to follow up all lines of enquiry in order to ascertain exactly what happened that day in Westridge Road.
“We have arrested and questioned a number of people as part of this investigation and are utilising significant resources to secure evidence and get justice for Michael and his family.
“We continue to appeal for information and encourage anyone who can help to contact us in confidence.”
