Fifth Man Nabbed in Canterbury Murder Probe
Deadly High Street Attack
A fifth suspect has been arrested in the murder investigation of a 23-year-old man brutally assaulted on Canterbury’s High Street on Thursday, October 10, 2024.
Initially, four men were taken into custody. Two have since been charged with murder, while the others were released on bail. Now, the latest arrest brings a fresh twist to the case.
New Arrest in Ongoing Case
On Wednesday, October 16, police arrested a 23-year-old man from Herne Bay on suspicion of assisting offenders. He has also been bailed pending further inquiries.
Charged and Remanded
- Kemal Ibrahim, 24, of Long Acre Close, Canterbury
- Mohammed Hgar, 31, no fixed address
Both stand charged with murder and possession of a bladed weapon. Ibrahim faces an additional assault charge. They remain in custody and are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Friday, October 18.
