Rochdale Grooming Gang: Three Jailed Men Still on Loose, Furious MP Slams Home Office

Qari Abdul Rauf, Abdul Aziz, and Adil Khan were locked up back in 2012 for horrific grooming attacks in Rochdale, Greater Manchester. Despite serving their sentences, these men, all Pakistani nationals, have been dodging deportation since 2018 after losing appeals to keep their British citizenship.

MP Calls Out ‘Grossly Unacceptable Inaction’

Rochdale’s Labour MP Tony Lloyd slammed the government for delays. “It’s unthinkable that the victims still risk bumping into these offenders on the street,” he said. Lloyd blasted the Home Office, accusing them of “grossly unacceptable inaction” after repeated promises from successive home secretaries to get these men off UK streets.

Recently, 51-year-old Rauf was reportedly seen casually shopping in Rochdale, filling a trolley with drinks and carrying a takeaway food bag. The revelation has reignited fury over the failure to deport him and the others swiftly.

Dark Crimes and Lingering Scandal

  • The trio were among nine men jailed for horrendous crimes including rape and trafficking of girls as young as 13.
  • Victims were raped and sold for sex in both Rochdale and nearby Oldham from 2008 onwards.
  • Sentences ranged from six to nine years, sparking public outrage over leniency.

A Home Office spokesperson said: “What happened in places such as 1 remains one of the biggest stains on our country’s conscience. These foreign national offenders’ cases have recently been reviewed at the home secretary’s request. We intend to update the victims through the proper channels when we can.”
