A 40-year-old man has been jailed for over five years after a terrifying knife attack on a woman in Gloucester — all in front of her terrified children.
Kids Flee Through Window as Knife-Wielding Man Strikes
Jeremiah Joshua Smith, who has no fixed address, threatened the family while waving a knife. The frightened mum had to shove her children out of a downstairs window to escape the horror. The children, who were having a sleepover, climbed over a garden fence and dashed to a neighbour’s house for safety, Gloucester Crown Court heard.
Violent Record Nets Lengthy Jail Term
Smith admitted brutally attacking one woman, causing grievous bodily harm with intent, and assaulting another. Recorder R. Weekes KC slammed Smith as a serious danger to any future partners. He was sentenced to five years and eight months behind bars, plus a three-year extended licence.
