Gosport Drugs Den Shut Down After Police Raid
A Gosport drugs den has been sealed off after police discovered bloodied bandages, used needles, and other drug paraphernalia littering the property.
Residents Forced Action Over Crime and Begging
Locals had raised the alarm about criminal behaviour, drug dealing, and persistent begging in the area. In response, Gosport Borough Council applied to shut down the property at 13 Niton Close.
Court Bans Access to Property
Portsmouth Crown Court swiftly approved the closure, making it a criminal offence for anyone to enter the premises. The property has now been boarded up and sealed.
Police and Council Praise Community Efforts
Inspector Richard Thompson of Gosport’s Neighbourhood Policing Team said:
“We gathered statements, photos, and body-worn camera footage to back this case. This swift action was driven by local beat officers and reports from the council’s housing team.”
“This shows community policing at its best, with partner agencies teaming up to protect Niton Close residents.”
“Such criminal activity devastates the wider community and visitors. This order sends a clear message: we won’t tolerate it and will use every power to stop it.”
