Man Found Guilty After Shocking Home Sex Attack in Hastings
A masked intruder has been convicted of rape, attempted rape, and trespass after violently breaking into a woman’s home in Hastings.
Horrific Assault in Milward Crescent
On November 30, 2024, the victim opened her door expecting a delivery. Instead, she was confronted by Jason Wren, who forced his way inside and subjected her to a terrifying 15-minute sexual assault before fleeing the scene.
Wren was arrested on December 7 and immediately denied the charges, claiming the encounter was consensual and arranged just a day prior. Investigations quickly debunked his story, leading to charges and his remand in custody.
Guilty Verdict Following Intense Trial
After a six-day trial at Hove Crown Court, a jury found Wren guilty on all counts on Tuesday, June 3. He remains in custody and will be sentenced on September 12.
Detective Chief Inspector Mark Cullimore, leading the investigation, said:
“This was a terrifying ordeal in the victim’s own home — a place where she should feel completely safe. I commend her courage throughout this investigation. Jason Wren tried to cover his crime with lies, but the jury saw through them and held him accountable for his violent, predatory actions. We want to reassure survivors that they will be believed and supported. No one has the right to violate another person, and we remain committed to bringing offenders to justice.”
