Hailsham Launches Pop-Up Rubbish Drop-Off Point to Tackle Bin Strike Chaos

Residents in the southern district, hit hard by missed refuse collections, can now dump their bagged household rubbish at a new trial site. A bin lorry and crew will be on hand to collect your black bin bags – but there’s a catch.

Only Bagged Household Waste Allowed – No Excuses

This pop-up facility is strictly for bagged regular household rubbish – that means your standard black bin bags. Garden waste, electrical items, or any other types of rubbish are a no-go.

Remember: do not place rubbish directly into the bin lorry. Use the bins provided to avoid enforcement action.

One Day Only – Strict Rules to Avoid Fines

  • Where: Hailsham, Vicarage Lane car park (Leisure Centre)
  • Postcode: BN27 2AX
  • When: 25th May 2022
  • Time: 8am to 2pm

The collection point will only be open when the bin lorry and crew are present. Dumping rubbish outside these times will be classed as fly-tipping. Offenders could face fines or even criminal charges.

So, bag it up and drop it off – but only on the day and at the spot specified. Keep it tidy, Hailsham!
