Leamington Drug Dealer Locked Up for 4½ Years
A 20-year-old drug dealer has been jailed for four-and-a-half years after police found heroin, cocaine, and cash on him in Leamington.
Harvey Griffiths Caught Red-Handed
Harvey William Griffiths, from Birmingham, was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Tuesday (7 November) after pleading guilty to possession with intent to supply cocaine and heroin. He also received extra time for failing to appear in court back in June.
Officers stopped Griffiths on 3 May in Culworth Close following a suspected drug deal. Although no drugs were found initially, a thorough search at custody uncovered cocaine and heroin hidden in his underwear. Police also seized cash and a mobile phone constantly buzzing with calls and messages.
Evidence of Drug Runs from Birmingham to Leamington
- Two bus tickets showed Griffiths had travelled from Birmingham to Leamington on consecutive days.
- In a police interview, he claimed the drugs were for a friend in Leamington—not for dealing.
Police Crackdown Under Operation Target
Detective Constable G Dubad from Leamington Serious Organised Crime Team said: “We’re pleased to have jailed another drug dealer intent on causing misery in our community.
“We are committed to being proactive in tackling drug dealing and most days you will find us conducting plain clothed patrols targeting their supply. We will continue to act on information provided by the public to bring these offenders to justice.”
This arrest forms part of Warwickshire Police’s ongoing Operation Target, aimed at tackling serious and organised crime across the region.
